Cleaning with Hot Water

Heating the de-ionised water that the machines produce to improve cleaning performance is a relatively recent development in this industry. The principle is a sound one. It relies on the fact that as you raise the temperature of the water the cleaning process accelerates and consequently produces better results. Cleaning is generally a chemical reaction and increasing temperature will always improve the speed. i.e. a 10oC will literally double the cleaning reaction rate!

This is particularly useful for initial cleans or even builder’s cleans where the level of dirt and contamination is very high. The hot water speeds the cleaning process up which in turn leads to improved profits.

The Hot Water has advantages in the very cold weather. It is not as likely to freeze on the glass giving you more cleaning days throughout the year. It is important to be aware that “Thermal Shock” can occur on very old glass and sometimes result in cracking if the applied water is too hot.
